ADAA: Advanced Design for Advanced Applications

ADAA – Advanced Design for Advanced Applications - enables designers to create parts with superior properties, enhanced functionality, and better performance using today’s Additive Manufacturing options.

The program combines comprehensive learning units with online and hands-on elements.

The training is developed by Fraunhofer IAPT in cooperation with University of Bologna, INEGI - Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, and Prima Additive S.r.l. and receives funding from the EIT Manufacturing under activity No. 23171.

Course contents:

9 Learning Paths on dedicated Advanced Design topics:

  • Topology Optimization for Additive Manufacturing
  • Biomimetic Design
  • Design of Compliant Mechanisms
  • Multimaterial Design with Additive Manufacturing
  • Optimized Acoustics by Additive Manufacturing
  • Design of Heat Exchangers
  • Design for Fiber-reinforced Printing
  • 4D Design of Foldable Mechanisms
  • Additional Hands-on Workshop (optional)

Pilot Courses

The consortium offers participation in the piloting phase of the online training program for interested individuals. Participation in the pilots is free of charge but space is limited. For more information, please send an email inquiry to academy@iapt.fraunhofer.de.

Please note that participants need an engineering background and a basic understanding of Additive Manufacturing to fully benefit from the program.
