Our new building is taking shape, follow the progress

Hamburg to Receive New Research Facility for Industrial Applications of Additive Manufacturing at Fraunhofer IAPT


A new extension building is being constructed in Hamburg-Bergedorf for the Fraunhofer Institute for Additive Manufacturing Technologies IAPT. The German federal government, the City of Hamburg, and the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft are jointly investing in the expansion of industry-oriented research and development for additive manufacturing technologies.
 

Infrastructure for Industry-Oriented Research


The expansion of Fraunhofer IAPT will provide companies and professionals in the Hamburg metropolitan region with low-threshold access to the complete additive manufacturing process chain.

 

  • The full process chain will be showcased across approximately 1,100 m², equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and system technology
  • The new building will offer around 2,670 m² of usable space across three floors
  • Workspaces and training facilities for the Fraunhofer IAPT’s Additive Academy®
